Here at Pfenning’s we believe in local first! We grow plenty of our own fresh veg on around 700 acres. As well as the carrots we are famous for, we also grow lettuces, kales, chards, broccoli, cauliflower, radishes, dandelion, radicchio, parsley, cilantro, collards, leeks, green onion, parsnips, squash, corn, turnip, and rutabaga. Here at home, our energy-efficient facilities include rapid cooling technology, production/packing lines, and proper storage areas for all types of produce. We strive to use the most environmentally friendly packaging materials that we can.
We also work closely with a network of organic growers nearby. We buy in bulk and pack under the Pfenning brand with our specifications, or we distribute under the grower’s own label, according to their preference. Many of these partnerships have lasted for decades, and we are always open to new ones.
